AASHTO T 198-02 is identical to ASTM C496-96 except provisions specified in this document.
This test method covers the determination of the splitting tensile strength of cylindrical concrete specimens such as molded cylinders and drilled cores. For methods of molding cylindrical specimens, see R 39 and T 23. For methods of obtaining drilled cores, see T 24.
